PT. Unimas Inti Jaya was established in early 2017 in Medan, Indonesia, as a provider of kitchen drain pipe maintenance services. Initially, the company only received requests for the maintenance of kitchen drain pipes in restaurants, where blockages often occurred during operations, disrupting the restaurant's activities. With the development of human resources and equipment at PT. Unimas Inti Jaya, the company began receiving requests for the maintenance of kitchen drain pipes for residential areas as well as factory/office/shopping center buildings. Due to frequent interactions with customers in the restaurant sector, PT. Unimas Inti Jaya identified a need for cleanliness products such as dish soap, hand soap, floor cleaners, and the like in every restaurant. Therefore, in the middle of 2017, PT. Unimas Inti Jaya decided to produce cleanliness products under the brand Bi Wash on a small scale to be sold to restaurants that had become regular customers for drain pipe maintenance services. However, in early 2020, when the Covid-19 pandemic hit Indonesia, PT. Unimas Inti Jaya experienced a drastic drop in sales due to the temporary closure of many restaurants. To ensure the company's survival, PT. Unimas Inti Jaya started producing cleanliness products for the retail market in Medan. The products from PT. Unimas Inti Jaya were well-received by customers, leading the company to relocate its production facilities to a larger area to meet the demand for Bi Wash products. As sales of Bi Wash products increased, PT. Unimas Inti Jaya decided to sell Bi Wash products in other cities in Indonesia in 2021. This is when PT. Unimas Inti Jaya encountered a new challenge: high operational costs due to limited product variants of Bi Wash at that time. To address this issue, PT. Unimas Inti Jaya sought products from other companies to be sold simultaneously, reducing the company's operational costs. With a well-established distribution network in Modern Trade, General Trade, and Horeca (Hotel, Restaurant, Café), PT. Unimas Inti Jaya was able to evenly distribute products from other companies to all customers within its distribution network. Eventually, PT. Unimas Inti Jaya transitioned from being a mere reseller to an exclusive distributor for more than 15 National and International Principals, distributing their products in Medan and other cities in Indonesia. In 2023, PT. Unimas Inti Jaya established another distribution company in Singapore to expand its distribution network.
